Hello, my name is Nikki and as well as being the founder of Kiddy Cook, I also deliver my school cooking workshops, after school clubs and parties in Greater Manchester to include Bolton, Bury, Oldham, Rochdale, Stockport, Tameside, Trafford, Wigan and the cities of Salford and Manchester. I can also deliver sessions in the Lancashire and Liverpool areas.
My passion for food began as a child, growing up with people around me who knew how to cook. My Mum taught me cooking and entertaining, my Nana introduced me to a love of baking and my Dad showed me how to make the best macaroni!
This passion for food and eating continued into my teens and took on a new dynamic when my children (Alex and Will) were born. I wanted them to experience home cooked food and a variety of ingredients and now that they are teenagers themselves they have a positive attitude to food and enjoy cooking.
Turning my passion into a business was prompted by many visits to local toddler groups when my daughter was small. Yet whilst I participated in lots of music and activity sessions, there didn't seem to be any classes teaching children about food and cooking. I recognised a gap in the market and launched Kiddy Cook in 2005.
My inspiration to teach children and young people how to have fun with food is still at the forefront of what we do, but importantly, I believe passionately that we should be teaching children as early as possible about nutrition and practical cooking skills to help them thrive in a challenging world.
