Hello

Welcome to Kiddy Cook in Yorkshire . Our award-winning cooking & baking classes and workshops introduce children to a variety of ingredients and help them to prepare delicious, healthy recipes to take home and cook. Here at Kiddy Cook, we’re dedicated to improving the health and wellbeing of children and young people across the UK by inspiring them to have fun with food, while instilling the importance of healthy eating as part of a healthy lifestyle.

Meet Kiddy Cook in the Yorkshire

My name is Emma and I am a proud single mum of 1 and Director of Kiddy Cook Harrogate.

I am a qualified Food & Nutrition Secondary teacher with nearly 30 years' experience and in January 2016 I became the Director of Kiddy Cook Harrogate. I believe passionately that children learn more when they are doing something they enjoy and with Kiddy Cook I am able to take my cooking activities into the classroom to teach science, geography and history.

I love my busy, challenging life and still find time to inspire children at weekend Food Festivals or children’s home cooking Parties; visiting nurseries or schools and teaching a variety of age groups how to have fun with nutritious food from age 2-19yrs!

Let me inspire your children and encourage them to develop life skills for their future x

Kiddy Cook launches lockdown recipe book to raise funds for the NHS

Today, we've launched a new initiative that we hope will improve emotional wellbeing in the local community, while also raising much-needed funds for the NHS.

We're inviting families across the UK to contribute to the creation of a book of tasty recipes and inspirational stories, which will then be available to buy, with all proceeds going to support NHS Charities Together .

“Life isn’t easy during lockdown, which is why it’s important to try and look for the good things in every day, no matter how small. And here at Kiddy Cook, we want to spread that positivity among the wider local community.  Which is why we’re encouraging families to submit a favourite recipe for inclusion in our special ‘lockdown’ recipe book, along with a couple of sentences around something positive that’s happened as a result of lockdown, such as being able to spend more time together as a family.”

Get Involved!

Families who would like to get involved will be asked to pay £5 to have their recipe, positive snippet and a relevant photo included in the book, which will then be available to buy as a digital download from the Kiddy Cook website for just £5 (with all proceeds going to NHS Charities Together).

  1. Send your recipe as a word file together with an image (saved as a jpeg) to harrogate@kiddycook.co.uk It would be great if we could get a picture of the whole family but don't worry if you are camera shy, a picture of your completed dish will be just fine.
  2. Send a maximum of 2 sentences telling us something positive to come out of lockdown
  3. Make a donation (minimum £5) via our Just Giving page, making sure that you include your name so we know who you are!

Business Opportunities

Sponsorship opportunities are also available for businesses who want to get involved at a cost of just £5 per page.

  1. Send your logo (saved as a jpeg) to harrogate@kiddycook.co.uk
  2. Make a donation (minimum £5) via our Just Giving page, making sure that you include your company name so we know who you are!

Deadline

“Our vision is that this will be a unique book full of lovely, tasty recipes from local families, each with an uplifting story behind it, that will inspire other local families to join in with cooking together at home. All while helping to support the incredible work our NHS services do every day.”

The deadline for submitting your recipes is Friday 17th April.

All money raised will go to NHS Charities Together!

Testimonials

What people say...

My 6 year old daughter attended Kiddy Cook through school, and looked forward to every Wednesday. Each week she would learn a new skill, and bring home her creations to finish off at home, such as spring rolls, vegetable noodles and her favourite pizza, which had all been started from scratch in class. I feel the price was very fair as all ingredients were provided by Kiddy Cook

Firstly, Emma is organised and reliable. Good communication and clear with what she'll do which from a school's point of view is essential. We asked her to come into our 2 schools to do a workshop on rationing to support our WW2 themed topic. This workshop really enhanced their learning and gave them another way of engaging with the topic. Her cookery steps were easy to follow and she was very much in control the whole time. The children all thoroughly enjoyed their experiences, gained excellent information in a cross curricular way and got to take home some tasty, ration-recipe treats. Thanks Emma
