We are now able to offer a series of sessions within nurseries and children’s centres, designed to help babies and toddlers to develop the skills to make healthier food choices; give them a taste for new and diverse foods, and a willingness and enthusiasm for trying new foods.
We’ll show parents the benefits of making their own purees at a fraction of the cost of those purchased from a Supermarket. We’ll talk to them about storing, reheating and cooking their purees and help them create some easy to make recipes that the whole family can enjoy!
Our BabyCook sessions are designed to stimulate the senses and encourage very young children (8 months+) to have a positive attitude towards food from very early on. Babies are encouraged to touch, squeeze, squelch, dip, dab and wipe. We bring all the ‘play’ items but recommend that babies wear ‘old’ clothes as the session is really messy and the children will definitely need a wash when finished.
CookieTots is a cooking specific child development programme for children aged 2-4 years, based around preparing and enjoying food. Our class leaders bring exciting practical and interactive lessons about healthy eating through storytelling, games and activities. Each of our sessions is designed to tie in with the Foundation Stage of the National Curriculum and we aim to achieve the 5 Every Child Matters outcomes of staying safe, being healthy, enjoying and achieving, making a positive contribution and achieving economic well being.
