British Asparagus Season Is Here Finally!

grilled_asparagus.jpg

The British asparagus season is finally here and what better way to celebrate the change of season than with delicious, home grown or locally produced asparagus.

Asparagas is best cooked and eaten within a couple of hours of picking so if you are lucky enough to find some locally now is the time to go and buy it. I get mine from Kenyon Hall Farm - their 8 acres of asparagus are cut every morning by hand and then washed and graded ready for sale.

For me, the simple things are the best and I like to eat my asparagus spears dipped in a soft boiled egg - just pop the spears in the pan at the same time as boiling your eggs for 3 minutes and you’re done.

How do you like to eat your asparagus?
