Coffee shops selling drinks with 2 days worth of sugar!
What's your favourite iced coffee? Do you prefer a Starbucks 'Strawberry Donut Frappuccino' with a whopping 16.6 teaspoons of sugar or the 'slightly' better 'Salted Caramel Crunch Frostino' from Costa Coffee?
These flavoured iced drinks, which are laden with a huge amount of sugar and calories should be an occasional treat and not an everyday drink, but if we are unaware of the amount of hidden sugar we are consuming, this isn't going to happen any time soon!
Both Starbucks and Costa Coffee told the Guardian Newspaper in 2016 that they were committted to reducing added sugar in their 'indulgent' drinks, and yet 3 years later, the names may have changed, but the amount of added sugar is still too much.
Who thinks that coffee shops should be more responsible and stop putting profits before the health of the nation?
